21st Century Learning!!
Reflection
EDTK 3202, Use of Media Production in Educational Materials, is a wonderful course. It is amazing how much one can learn and grow by just attending these class sessions and engaging in the activities of the course. Initially, I want to thank my lectures and course facilitators, Mrs. Elia Grant Frazer and Ms. Michele Taylor for constant support and detailed explanations. They were truly helpful.
From this course, a myriad of skills were learned and exercised with regard to the use of information and communication technology as well as media and internet resources in the classroom. As aspiring teachers we were allowed the opportunity to reflectively and critically think (as teachers) to create media tools that can be used in an actual class session at the secondary school level.
The holistic approach allowed for discussions, readings, research and hands-on lab activities which equip the students in this course with fluency as to why the use of media is important as well as the skills to produce this media. Therefore, allowing an individual exposed to this course to feel quite capable of using and exploring media for educational purposes and quite excited to do so.
